Destiny 2 Patch Notes: Update 4.0.0.1 Confirmed, Latest News, and Known Errors (February 2022)

Welcome Guardians, if you're reading this chances are there's a brand new update in Destiny 2, but what’s actually changed? Do your weapons feel different? Has Stasis lost some of its effectiveness in PVP? Is Xur doing a merry little dance in the hanger? If you want to know exactly what the Traveler developer has changed, you should probably have a read of the latest Destiny 2 patch notes.

As with all live service games, Destiny 2 is regularly updated by the dev team at Bungie. Sometimes it's a small hotfix to fix a quest, other times it's a case of tweaking drop rates and occasionally the game needs a drastic update to nerf Jotunn (OK, that last one is our wishful thinking).

Whatever the change, we’ll detail them all right here, from the tiny hotfixes to the mammoth-sized new season drops. Without further ado, here is the latest Destiny 2 patch notes.

It's now just 24 Hours to go until the launch of The Witch Queen! Later today pre-load for Update 4.0.0.1 will be available on all platforms.

As noted by Bungie, Players using the PS4 version of Destiny 2 will be required to download all associated Destiny 2 Required Content before playing The Witch Queen. These can be downloaded by launching Destiny 2 after the 4.0.0.1 patch is released.

"After the downloads have started, you can safely close the game and the Required Content downloads will continue in the background during our maintenance downtime. The PS4 download of Destiny 2 and all Required Content will be large, but players will have a smaller installation size once the download is complete. This should help improve the download and install of future PS4 patches."
